Chewy has brought me in to create ads for streaming platforms, editorial animations, and storyboards for other motion designers. Here are two projects from our collaborations.

Chewy | Toronto Maple Leafs

Role: Motion Designer
Creative Director: Lane Karczewski

Chewy reached out to me to create a high-energy, streaming ad announcing their new partnership with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

They gave me access to a library of pet footage shot on green screen, and I sourced additional stock footage to fill out the story, following a rough storyboard from the team. My role covered compositing, motion, and editing. One of the things I love about working with Chewy is that they always bring in a sound designer, which adds a lot of depth to the spot, pushing the high energy even further.

The spot was delivered in multiple formats: 16x9, 1x1, and 9x16, with both :15 and :06 cuts.

Vet Care Announcement

Role: Motion Designer
Creative Director: Arnau Dot Sayos

I get all my pet products at Chewy, so when they reached out asking me to animate their Vet Care announcement video I pounced on the opportunity.

The project seemed simple enough but it required frame by frame animation and a quadruped walk cycle, both outside my skillset. I reached out to motion designers in my community who specialize in frame by frame animation for process tips, and called my best friend, who happens to be a vet, to ask about cat anatomy and get reference videos of her cats.

The result is a walk cycle with a sit that I'm proud of. Frame by frame animation is hard, and a quadruped even harder — it's not perfect, but it works for this video and that's what matters.
